Skid steer clearing brush on a wooded lot

Land Clearing in Ooltewah, TN

Ooltewah, Apison, Collegedale

Clay residuum over limestone, not a place to strip wet

Ooltewah, Apison, Collegedale, and Harrison sit on valley limestone. Talbott soils are clay over rock, often only 20 to 40 inches deep. Collegedale soils are heavy clay weathered from limestone and shale. Mildly acidic water opens joints in that rock, so a clay cap can bridge a void.

Winter rain turns that clay to mud. A heavy dozer that strips the mat in a wet month pushes sediment toward Wolftever Creek and can break the soil bridge over a sink. The tracked mulcher is the tool that opens brush while the cap stays. Pads and septic prep still go through Hamilton County groundwater protection. Call 423-315-6068 from the Ringgold shop.

Site considerations

How we work Talbott and Collegedale ground

We mulch undergrowth and small stems in place when you are reclaiming pasture, a fence row, or a wooded yard. The chip layer slows wash while you decide on a pad.

If the survey stakes a house, grubbing and rough grade come next, and we do that in drier weather when the clay will compact. Tell us if a sink, spring, or septic field is already on the parcel.

What you can count on

We do not publish city-specific project galleries or reviews on this page yet. These are the same practical values we share company-wide.

Dependable equipment

Modern machines sized for residential lots and commercial clearings — maintained so work stays on schedule.

Practical support

Clear answers on scope, timing, and what to expect on site — so you are not left guessing mid-project.

Project-ready service

From brush clearing to finished rough grade, we focus on leaving lots ready for whatever comes next.

FAQs

Ooltewah questions

Straightforward answers about land clearing and how to reach us from our Serving Chattanooga.

FAQ - 01

Do you work Apison and Collegedale too?

Yes. Those communities share the same limestone residuum and clay. Send the address so we can see access for the trailer.

FAQ - 02

Will mulching hurt a sinkhole?

Mulching leaves the vegetative mat. Stripping that mat with a dozer in wet weather is the risk. We will not treat a known sink as a dump spot.

FAQ - 03

Where are you based?

250 Cassidy Lane, Ringgold, GA. Ooltewah is a regular mobilization, not a second office.

FAQ - 04

What if I need a house pad?

That is grubbing and site prep, not a mulch bed under a slab. We will say which one the lot needs before we price it.
